David Bruce Reynolds Attorney - Reynolds Law Offices
David Bruce Reynolds was born on August 18, 1947 and raised in the
deep West End of Louisville, Kentucky. His parents, who were from
Central Kentucky farming families, moved to Pleasure Ridge Park,
Kentucky, a suburb of Louisville, whose main thoroughfare is Dixie
Highway, in the year 1963. Bruce graduated from Pleasure Ridge
Park High School in 1965.
Bruce entered the workforce on his fourteenth birthday, when he
became a paper carrier for the old Louisville Courier-Journal and
Times newspapers. After moving to Pleasure Ridge Park, he parlayed
this into a car delivery route with four hundred ninety five
Sunday deliveries the week he became sixteen years old.
Upon graduation from high school, Bruce followed his father and
older brother in working at the old Louisville and Nashville
Railroad Company. Bruce started as a file clerk, transferred to
the Accounting Department, where he worked as an Additions and
Betterments Accountant, transferred to the Engineering Department,
where he was a cartographer, and later moved into the
Architectural Office, where he designed, drew and supervised all
types of railroad construction projects for six of the ten years
he worked at the L & N. While at the railroad, Bruce took
advantage of the free college tuition program and graduated from
the University of Louisville 's night school division with a
Sociology degree.
As a part of his college education, Bruce became a Volunteer
Juvenile Probation Officer. This led to an interest in law
enforcement, and Bruce rode countless hours with homicide
detectives of the Louisville Division of Police. However, at that
time, he did not meet the height requirement for becoming a police
officer.
Bruce resigned his position with the railroad to enter the
University Of Louisville School Of Law (now the Louis Brandeis
School of Law), from where he graduated in 1980. During his tenure
as a student there, Bruce worked as a law clerk for over two years
in the Commonwealth Attorney's office in Louisville under
then-Commonwealth's Attorney David L. Armstrong.
